Amy Dancz, Soprano, has quickly established herself as a dynamic, evocative performer on the Boston scene as well as in Europe. After performing scenes from Hänsel und Gretel and Massenet's Werther with Opera Workshop Garðabær in Iceland and a small collaboration with Berlin International Opera in Germany this Fall, Amy will be singing Sandman/Dew Fairy with Boston Lyric Opera's outreach production of Hansel and Gretel. Other opera roles include Micaëla (Carmen, cover), Geraldine (A Hand of Bridge), 1st Knitter (A Game of Chance), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), and 1st Boy (The Magic Flute).

In August, Amy returned as a featured soloist with Chorus Pro Musica's Summer Sing of Haydn's Mass in the Time of War at Old South Church. She also sang with Boston Lyric Opera's chorus in the 2009/2010 season productions of Carmen and Idomeneo.

In 2006, The Patriot Ledger lauded Amy as a “highlight” of Quincy Dinner Theatre’s Holiday Show in her role as Madame Gazaza. Amy was chosen to participate in the University of Miami Salzburg program in 2003 and 2006, where she studied with world-renowned Soprano Patricia Wise. Both summers she was awarded Salzburg Scholarships for exceptional vocal talent. In 2005, Amy studied at the Universitaet fuer Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria, where she performed in multiple liederabends throughout the winter season.

Amy has twice been a winner of the Society of Singers Vocal Scholarship, and was awarded the prestigious Arnold Volpe Scholarship for her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. Amy completed her Master's of Music at the New England Conservatory of Music and currently studies under Carole Haber.
